Kuleshov Revisted: Emotional Reactions Across Time

A recent psychological study (Marian & Shimamura, 2013, Amer. J. Psychology) presented short clips of dynamic facial expressions, such as a face moving from happy to neutral. In some cases, an emotional illusion occurred such that a “neutral” face appeared to have a slight positive or negative expression, depending on its starting position (for demos, go to psychocinematics.blogspot.com).
